Frequently asked questions

I’m an elementary school teacher. Will there be workshops appropriate for me?

Yes. Each year we have presenters and participants that teach at all levels of the school spectrum. Workshop sessions that elementary teachers might find especially useful deal with critical thinking, online community building, and global partnerships. There will be information and practical ideas to use for all students, at all levels. We will have an suggested elementary strand this year.

I’m bringing my family. What activities can they do while I'm at the conference?

Boston has all sorts of highlights: Freedom Trail, whale watching, shopping downtown, Faneuil Hall… Ask the concierge at the hotel for maps and details. We will be in downtown Boston within walking distance to the Boston Commons and the Freedom Trail. Also, the stop for the Trolly Tour of Boston is across the street from the hotel. There are several tours of Boston. You can search the web for more information..

Will the conference be wireless? Should I bring my laptop?

Yes! All workshop sessions will have wireless connectivity. Wireless connections are also available in guest rooms for an additional charge. Free wireless will be available 24 hours a day on the Mezzanine and 4th floor.

I see that registration takes place Wednesday morning. I’m supposed to be going to a pre-conference. Won’t I need to register before that?

Your pre-conference presenter will have conference materials ready for you at your workshop. You will receive a conference program electronically prior to the conference or you may download one from this site.

I’m a school leader and I want to take back as much information as possible. Will there be handouts available to me?

We hope to have any handouts available through our conference Web site.

Can I use a PO for my hotel costs?

Conference registration does not include hotel and arrangements must be made directly with the hotel. The conference hotel will not accept a purchase order.
